 We developed 3M™ Vinyl Tape 471+ as a form-fitting vinyl tape with a versatile rubber adhesive and a moderately transparent liner that allows precise alignment with concealment for simple or complex patterns. Our tape provides clean removal with no adhesive residue even after a 30-minute bake cycle at 250°F.

3M Vinyl Tape 471+ offers performance and productivity for concealing fine lines in many critical paint applications. Clean, sharp paint lines can be made for color separation because it is lift resistant and its versatile rubber adhesive adheres to a wide variety of surfaces, including resins, and then separates cleanly from flat or composite surfaces. We designed this tape to conform well to curves and to stretch and hold, even with a radius as narrow as 38mm.

Follow irregular patterns to provide clean lines. Its moderate transparency facilitates alignment when following the contours of complex patterns. Our flexible vinyl backing is also abrasion resistant and will protect adjacent surfaces during sanding operations. When it's finished, its removal from a piece preserved the sharp lines of paint it helped create.
