3M ™ 8985L Anodizing Tape has a strong polyester backing to withstand chromic acid anodizing baths (Type I anodizing).
It also incorporates a silicone-free rubber adhesive to minimize the risk of silicone contamination, which could affect downstream processes such as bonding or paint adhesion.
This tape provides sharp masking edges, minimizes leakage and the need for corrections, and can be used with or without chemical film on various aluminum alloys and other metals.
3M ™ 8985L Anodizing Masking Tape can replace complex and cumbersome liquid masking and helps prevent unpleasant odors.
Clear tape is easy to apply and can be applied in fewer steps; it also eliminates the cure time of liquids, which shortens the overall duration of the masking and unmasking process.
Ease of application and cleaning, it is removed without breaking once the process is finished.
