The 3M™ Dual Lock™ SJ3870 Repositionable Closure System is made of black polypropylene and has a modified acrylic adhesive. Our product can be used indoors and outdoors in different applications, it is thin (it has a glued thickness of 6.1 mm) and a long service life.

Our unique 3M™ Dual Lock™ TB3870 Repositionable Clasp can be opened and closed over and over again, up to 1000 times before losing 50% of its original strength, to facilitate repeated access or repositioning.

Mushroom heads slide easily over each other allowing parts to be positioned prior to nesting to create a firm hold. Once attached, the black systems are hidden from view and leave a smooth surface that helps create a clean look.

The polyolefin system with type 250 filament density is combined with types 170, 250 or 400 giving the user the option to adjust the closing resistance according to the application.

The system has a modified acrylic pressure sensitive adhesive that bonds to numerous plastics (polyethylene, acrylic, polycarbonate and ABS) and electrostatic paints, as well as to medium and low surface energy materials with little or no surface preparation.

When two pieces of the 3M Dual Lock Repositionable System are pressed against each other, the filaments flex and the mushroom heads slide past each other. Once they pass to the opposite coupling piece, the filaments return to their original position, intertwining with the heads on the other side. When they engage, you will hear the signal that they have engaged.

The formed fastener can be as effective as screws or rivets, with the added benefit that it can be pulled apart for repositioning.
